NEWER BMW AND MINI MODELS NOW HAVE CONDITION BASED SERVICING.
Maintenance of the latest BMW models is split into different categories which count down the remaining mileage independently of each other depending on the type of driving you do. This is called Condition Based Servicing (CBS). It can be quite difficult to find this information on your dashboard, so either drive in to see us, or give us a call and we will talk you through the I-drive menu which is in your car.
EARLIER BMW MODELS HAVE INSPECTION SERVICING.
This is more straight-forward and has a pattern as follows;

This sequence is repeated throughout the vehicle’s life. If you would like information on coolant and other fluids, timing chains/belts and other requirements please contact us for assistance.
The remaining distance the vehicle has left until a service is required is shown for a few seconds when you start the car. If in 2 years the vehicle has only covered a small amount of mileage and then distance remaining doesn’t reach zero miles the car should be service based on time requirements.
Older models have green lights which go out as you drive and when the green lights have gone the vehicle should be serviced. If in 2 years the vehicle has only a small amount of mileage and the distance remaining doesn’t reach zero miles the car should be serviced based on time requirements.
Every two years a round symble may appear this indicates the brake fluid and in some cases coolant service is necessary.
